Taormina, Sicily

Since the end of the nineteenth century Taormina has become a world famous international resort whose visitors are, time and time again, enraptured by its charming atmosphere, its natural beauty, its all-year-round mild climate, its preservation of local culture and ancient history. Settled on a hill of the Monte Tauro, Taormina dominates two grand, sweeping bays below and on the southern side, the top of Mount Etna.

Accommodations
Our accommodations for the week will be at Villa Paradiso, located in the heart of Taormina, next to the lush Botanical Gardens “Parco Duca di Cesarò” and the Taormina Tennis Club. Villa Paradiso has magnificent views of the Bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. All bedrooms have private baths and breakfast is served each morning in the Villa’s rooftop restaurant.

Tennis
There will be 5 mornings of tennis, Monday through Friday on the red clay courts of Taormina Tennis Club. After a warm up, participants will be divided into groups by ability. Each day, a different stroke will be highlighted and there will be ample time for round robins. At the end of the week, there will be round robins with members of the club.

Instructors
The head pro of Taormina Tennis Club, Mario Quattrocchi, has taught for the past 10 years. Mario has achieved the teaching level of “Maestro Nationale”, one of the highest levels of instruction in Italy.  Mario and his assistants will be working with you throughout the week.
Over the years, they have also achieved the teaching level of ” Maestro Nationale”, one of the highest levels of instruction in Italy. They look forward to working with you throughout the week.


Itinerary
The length of stay is seven nights. Travel arrangements to and from Catania are the responsibility of each participant. Upon arrival in Catania, you will be met for the trip to the Taormina. Your plans should enable you to arrive in time for that afternoon’s lunch. In addition to the tennis instruction, there will be afternoon excursions to sites in and around Taormina including Castelmola, Siracusa, Mount Etna and Santa Venerina, wine tasting, a cooking class and ample time for shopping and exploring.
